Like any industry, real estate has its own jargon. Some of the terms are peculiar to the Philippines. And a lot of the words may be already familiar to you, but will have a slightly different meaning or emphasis when used by real estate professionals.

VALID Having a binding force. Legally sufficient and authorized by law.

VALUATION Estimated utility, desirability, worth or price. Estimation. The act of valuaing by appraisal.

VERIFICATION A sworn statement before a duly qualified officer of the correctness of the contents of an instrument.

VOID To have no force or effect. That which is unenforceable.

VOIDABLE That which may be voided, but is not void until is action is taken to make it so.

VOLUNTARY LIEN Any lien placed on property with the consent or as a result of the voluntary act of the owner.
